Currently Available DSI Scholarships
& Guidelines

Scholarship applicants must adhere to specific eligibility and participation guidelines, which are contingent upon their current educational level and prior award status.

APPLICATION AND ELIGIBILITY RULES

  1. Application Limit: High school and college students are limited to applying for a maximum of two (2) scholarships annually.

  2. Multiple Recipients: Each scholarship type can be awarded to multiple recipients, which may result in an individual award winner receiving a smaller amount than the advertised total. For instance, if four applicants apply for a scholarship and are awarded a grant, the $5000 amount would be divided into four $1250 awards.

  3. Category Placement: Occasionally, an awardee may also be recategorized into a different scholarship subtype than they initially applied for, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

AWARD RESTRICTIONS

  1. High School Level: High school students who receive a scholarship are ineligible to apply for the same scholarship in subsequent years.

  2. College Level: College students who receive a scholarship become ineligible to apply for the same scholarship in subsequent years.

  3. Transitioning Students: High school scholarship recipients may apply for up to two (2) college scholarships annually (one per year) once they commence the undergraduate phase of their education.

MANDATORY POST-AWARD REQUIREMENTS

  1. Recipients must complete additional steps to finalize their applications and support the program:

  2. Surveys: All award recipients are required to complete pre-, inter-, and post-survey inquiries to finalize the application process.

  3. Mentorship Program: Scholarship winners will be asked to participate as mentors for future award recipients through the DSI Mentor/Mentee program.

  4. Award winners may be asked to provide documentation via receipts/statements that the grants were used for academic purposes.
