Dr. David T. Harvey is a triple board-certified physician specializing in dermatology, internal medicine, and Mohs micrographic surgery. After earning his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Harvey completed his dermatology residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He further honed his expertise with a fellowship in procedural dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, launching a distinguished surgical career that has impacted thousands of patients and inspired many colleagues.
Throughout his career, Dr. Harvey has held prominent leadership roles, serving as past president of the Georgia Society of Dermatology, and Dermatologic Surgery, the Florida Academy of Dermatology, and the Florida Society of Dermatology Surgeons. He is currently an assistant clinical professor at Emory School of Medicine’s Department of Dermatology and has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications. His dedication to excellence has been recognized with multiple honors, including a Presidential Citation Award in Mohs Surgery from the American Academy of Dermatology, the Inaugural Alumnus Impact Award from the University of South Florida Department of Dermatology, the prestigious Castle Connolly Award for Excellence, and repeated recognition as a top doctor in Atlanta.
Dr. Harvey’s commitment extends beyond clinical practice. He has organized numerous skin cancer screening events for underserved communities, mentored aspiring dermatologists, and advocated for improved access and innovation in dermatologic care nationwide. He also has served on the American Academy of Dermatology’s Payment and Grassroots Advocacy Taskforce committees. His efforts have positively influenced both individual lives and the broader dermatology community.
In 2024, Dr. Harvey founded The DermElevate Scholarship Initiative, dedicated to supporting underserved students pursuing careers in medicine and/or one of the healthcare fields. As president and CEO of The DermElevate Scholarship Initiative, he continues to champion opportunities for those seeking to improve their lives and contribute to the field of medicine.
