Cameron is a third-year medical student at Meharry Medical College with a strong commitment to advancing diversity and equity in dermatology. Her interests include chronic and autoimmune skin disease, hair loss, acne, and improving access to dermatologic care for underserved populations.
She is particularly interested in the role of clinical research in identifying and addressing disparities in disease outcomes. To support this goal, Cameron completed research focused on understanding disease progression and patient outcomes. Through the Winn Clinical Investigator Pathway Program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, she analyzed brain metastasis recurrence in non–small cell lung cancer using genomic and clinical data, strengthening her foundation in translational research. She earned her Master's degree in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University, where she developed a strong background in disease mechanisms that continues to inform her clinical and research interests.
Cameron currently serves as HIV/AIDS Committee Chair for SNMA, where she leads campus-wide education initiatives and represents her institution at the national level as a House of Delegates participant. She also worked as a P.A.S.S. tutor at Tennessee State University mentoring students in biology and premedical studies. Cameron aspires to become a physician-scientist in dermatology, using research, mentorship, and clinical care to address disparities and improve outcomes in underserved communities.
